Emmanuel Baptist Christian School

The school was started because God placed within the hearts of Baptist Mid-Missions missionaries, Rob, and Penny Whitty a desire to start a Christian school. This desire was shared with Pastor Seth Antwi, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Berekum. Together, the “Old Vision Hotel” was purchased, and Emmanuel Baptist Church became the proprietors of the school. God has been the driving power behind the purchase, growth, and development of the school. We praise Him for all He has done.

Emmanuel Baptist Christian School officially opened on 9th September 2019. We currently offer a Christian education to those in Creche to Basic 5. Each year we add another class so we can offer a continuous education to our students. Because of its excellent staff, high academic standards, Christian emphasis, picturesque environment, and walled campus, it is a school in high demand.

Our philosophy of education includes helping our children develop a Biblical world view. “And do not be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and perfect and acceptable.” (Romans 12:2) The Bible provides the foundation for all truth which can be applied to every subject and every area of our life. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” (Proverbs 1:7) We do not just want our children to be knowledgeable, we want them to be wise.

Our philosophy of discipline is very simple, “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If we endure chastening, God dealeth with you as sons, for what son is whom the father chastens not?” (Hebrews 12:6,7) The goal of a Christ-centered education is to make disciples/followers of Christ. It is the responsibility of the school to partner with the family and reinforce the values that they are teaching their children. The family was instituted by God, school has been instituted by man, but the school can be a valuable asset to the family. We believe in corporal punishment. “He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly.” (Proverbs 13:24) We do cane students, but we are not excessive, and we do not condone any form of abuse whether, physical, mental, emotional, or sexual.
